Boeing: heavy loss per share in Q3

(CercleFinance.com) - Boeing announces a preliminary Q3 2024 loss per share (GAAP) of $9.
97, with negative operating cash flow of $1.3bn, on revenues of $17.8bn.

The aircraft manufacturer explains that these results were weighed on by both the machinists' strike, which has penalised production for a month, and by charges linked to strategic decisions in its Commercial Airplanes and BDS divisions.

In its Commercial Airplanes division, the group expects to book pre-tax profit charges of $3bn on the 777X and 767 programs. It now expects the first delivery of the 777-9 in 2026 and the 777-8 freighter in 2028.

In its Defense, Space & Security (BDS) division, Boeing expects to book $2bn in pre-tax profit charges on its T-7A, KC-46A, Commercial Crew and MQ-25 programs.
