GM launches PowerBank energy storage device
(CercleFinance.com) - GM reports that its Energy division has expanded its offering with the launch of PowerBank, a stationary energy storage product.
This device enables electric vehicle (EV) owners to store and transfer energy from the grid, and to integrate with solar equipment, says the automaker.
PowerBank is available in two capacities (10.6 kWh and 17.7 kWh) and can power a home in the event of a power cut, or reduce costs during periods of high demand.
By combining two units, it is possible to obtain up to 35.4 kWh, enough to power an average home for 20 hours.
