GE Vernova: modernization of a power plant in Iraq

(CercleFinance.com) - Mass Group Holding (MGH) and GE Vernova have announced major advances in the modernization of the Besmaya power plant, Iraq's largest (4.
5 GW).

GE Vernova has completed Phase 1 of the 9F.04 gas turbine upgrade and launched Phase 2.

An eight-year service agreement has also been signed for Phase 3, equipped with four additional turbines.

The Phase 1 upgrades have increased efficiency and flexibility, reducing CO2 emissions by 477,000 tons per year.

The project supports Iraq's energy transition, improving power generation and energy efficiency.
