BAE Systems: $184m contract extension with US Army

(CercleFinance.com) - BAE Systems announces that it has been awarded a $184m contract modification to produce an additional 48 Armored Multi-Purpose Vehicles (AMPVs) for the US Army, in addition to the existing series production contract.


AMPVs replace aging M113s and modernize armored brigades with improvements in mobility, protection, interoperability and on-board power.

Manufactured in five variants (general purpose, mortar transport, medical evacuation and care, and command), these vehicles meet the needs of soldiers.

BAE Systems also plans to expand its Pennsylvania plant to increase production.
