Renault: Ampere takes a 40% stake in E2-CAD
(CercleFinance.com) - Ampere and E2-CAD announce that they have signed a collaboration agreement in the field of on-board electronics, particularly power electronics.
Under the terms of this agreement, Ampere will acquire a 40% stake in E2-CAD in order to benefit from its expertise in this field.
'Power electronics play a major role in the recharging speed, autonomy and driving performance of an electric vehicle. Its main objective is to control, regulate and manage electrical energy while minimizing losses. Power electronics represent a significant part of the cost of an electric powertrain' says the group.
' We've been working with E2-CAD for years on structuring subjects, ever since the launch of Zoe in 2013. The skills of E2-CAD's teams in the key areas of electric vehicles, particularly in the development of electronic boards and low-level software, and its agility on our projects, have made it one of our preferred partners,' says Philippe Brunet, EV and Mechanical Engineering Director, Ampere.
