Alstom: has signed a contract with EFE in Chile

(CercleFinance.com) - Alstom and EFE (Empresa de los Ferrocarriles del Estado) Trenes de Chile have signed a contract to supply the Virtual Signaling Control (VSC) project, a new control system for Chilean rail traffic.


This system will modernize communications and signaling on the EFE network throughout the country, along some 1,800 kilometers of track.

The new signaling system will include a control center, which will integrate existing and new signaling equipment into a single operating interface along 1,800 kilometers of track. In addition, on-board signalling equipment will be installed on trains, to provide real-time information on the status of signalling systems to freight and passenger train drivers.
