GE HealthCare: positive results for a contrast agent

(CercleFinance.com) - GE HealthCare announced the completion of its Phase I clinical development program for an innovative macrocyclic manganese-based MRI contrast agent.


The results, presented at the Contrast Media Symposium in Oslo, indicate that this contrast agent was well tolerated with no serious adverse events or dose-limiting toxicities.

With a relaxivity comparable to that of gadolinium-based agents, this new agent could represent a viable alternative due to its naturally occurring nature in the body and its efficient elimination.

Experts point to the agent's potential advantages, including reduced risk of tissue deposition and lower environmental impact.
