Equinor: takes 9.8% stake in Ørsted
(CercleFinance.com) - Equinor announces that it has acquired 41,197,344 shares in Ørsted A/S, representing 9.
8% of the company's shares and voting rights, thus becoming Ørsted's second largest shareholder, after the Danish state.
Equinor states that it is not seeking representation on the Board of Directors.
Ørsted has a net renewable energy generating capacity of around 10.4 GW, and is targeting a gross installed capacity of 35 to 38 GW by 2030.
The current value of Equinor's stake in Ørsted is approximately $2.5bn.
Equinor plans to increase its shareholding to 10% following regulatory approval, with no intention of increasing this further.
