Alstom: inaugurates Aqua line of Mumbai metro in India

(CercleFinance.com) - Alstom announced this weekend that its Metropolis automatic trains, manufactured in India, will be used on the Aqua line of the Mumbai metro, carrying over 1.
6 million passengers a day.

Inaugurated on 5 October 2024 by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, this 33.5 km line is Mumbai's first underground metro line.

Alstom has supplied 31 modern trains of 8 carriages each, as well as advanced signalling solutions based on CBTC technology.

The trains, designed to maximize space and safety, are fully recyclable and aim to reduce emissions and pollution.
