Bureau Veritas: sells food analysis business

(CercleFinance.com) - Bureau Veritas announces that it has reached an agreement to sell its food analysis business to Mérieux NutriSciences, for an enterprise value of E360m and proceeds of approximately E290m.


With sales of E133m in 2023, the divested business has 34 laboratories in the Americas, Africa and Asia-Pacific, and employs over 1,900 technicians, including chemists and microbiologists.900 technicians, including chemists and microbiologists.

The inspection and certification services group states that the transaction is expected to close by the end of Q4 2024, once the usual conditions, including regulatory approval in certain countries, have been met.

The proceeds from this disposal will finance the acceleration of the pace of acquisition projects. This transaction will slightly improve adjusted operating margin, and will have a neutral effect on adjusted net income, group share, from 2025 onwards.
