Getlink: six weeks of work planned for ElecLink

(CercleFinance.com) - Providing an update on the malfunction of the electrical interconnector between France and the UK, which has led to the suspension of operations at its subsidiary ElecLink, Getlink estimates that the repair work will take six weeks to complete.


The infrastructure group says that the investigations carried out have identified the cause of the fault, linked to a deterioration in the structure supporting the cable, outside the tunnel on the French side. The detailed plan for the necessary repairs is currently being drawn up.

The expected duration of the work therefore means that operations will resume on 16 November, a date which will be confirmed as soon as the repair plan has been finalized. Suspension of activity until November 16 will have an estimated commercial impact of around E46m.
