GTT: container ships adopt '1 barg' concept

(CercleFinance.com) - GTT announces the first implementation of its '1 barg' concept in collaboration with an Asian shipyard.


The concept will be applied to the tanks of twelve recently ordered LNG-powered container ships equipped with GTT's Mark III Flex technology.

It will enable operations at an effective pressure of up to 1 bar, compared with the current maximum of 0.7 bar.

According to GTT, this will be the first time that a higher nominal pressure level has been applied to large-capacity tanks (> 3,000 m³).
