ABB: Memorandum of Understanding with Carbon Re

(CercleFinance.com) - ABB announces that it has signed a memorandum of understanding with Carbon Re to accelerate the decarbonization of cement production while improving productivity.


Together, the partners will explore a go-to-market solution that combines ABB's expertise in automation and advanced process control with Carbon Re's artificial intelligence and machine learning.

Building on a successful project in the Czech Republic, ABB will integrate Carbon Re's AI platform with its ABB Ability Expert Optimizer solution.

This collaboration aims to optimize energy efficiency and reduce emissions, by automatically adjusting parameters such as post-combustion oxygen according to plant conditions.

Thanks to this technology, ABB anticipates a reduction in specific energy of up to 5% and improved furnace stability without human intervention.
