Rio Tinto: increases stake in BSL

(CercleFinance.com) - Rio Tinto announces that it has bought Mitsubishi Corporation's 11.
65% stake in Boyne Smelters Limited (BSL), increasing its holding to 71.04%.

BSL owns and operates the Boyne Island aluminum smelter in Australia.

Rio Tinto continues to work with its partners to secure a low-carbon future for its Gladstone operations.

In addition, the acquisitions of Sumitomo Chemical Company's interests in BSL (2.46%) and New Zealand Aluminium Smelters (20.64%) are progressing under various conditions precedent. For info, the price was not disclosed.
