KKR: new strategic partnership with BBVA

(CercleFinance.com) - BBVA and global investment firm KKR have formed a new strategic partnership to support the decarbonization of the economy.


As part of this strategic partnership, BBVA has committed to invest $200 million in KKR's global climate strategy. The two companies made the announcement at Climate Week, held in New York this week.

The strategic partnership will also aim to uncover new investments related to climate infrastructure, including opportunities that support energy transition and electrification. In addition, the strategic partnership will support the respective companies' complementary strengths, knowledge sharing and common goals of advancing and accelerating the energy transition.

' We are in the early stages of what will be a decades-long transition to carbon neutrality, which is one of the greatest investment opportunities of our time and requires the involvement of the entire financial sector. We are delighted to be working with BBVA, given their industry-leading presence in the renewable energy sector and their deep commitment to mitigating the impacts of climate change,' said Emmanuel Lagarrigue and Charlie Gailliot, co-head of KKR's global climate strategy.
