Nissan: Renault to sell around 5% of its share capital

(CercleFinance.com) - Following the resolution of the Board of Directors on September 26, 2024, Nissan has announced the acquisition of its own shares from Renault and the cancellation of its shares.


Nissan has received a notice from Renault proposing to sell part of its Nissan shares and has decided to acquire 195,473,600 shares. This number of shares represents approximately 5.0% of Nissan's share capital. The Japanese group has decided to cancel all the shares acquired.

Renault had already completed two sales of Nissan shares on December 13, 2023 and March 28, 2024.

The transaction will be financed from Nissan's net cash position.

This decision is in line with Nissan's commitment to improve shareholder returns and capital efficiency, while maintaining the financial resources necessary to achieve Nissan's business plans," says the group.
