Stellantis: joint venture with Orano abandoned

(CercleFinance.com) - French nuclear fuel specialist Orano announced on Wednesday evening that it would not be finalising its joint venture project with automotive manufacturer Stellantis.


The two groups are thus abandoning the non-binding memorandum of understanding they had signed in October 2023 to join forces in the recycling of end-of-life electric vehicle batteries.

The project also covered the processing of manufacturing scrap from 'gigafactories', plants with gigawatt production capacity.

Orano, which welcomes the collaborative relationship developed with Stellantis, explains that it is currently exploring other potential commercial relationships with its partner.
