Uber: strategic partnership with WeRide in the Emirates

(CercleFinance.com) - Uber Technologies announces a strategic partnership with WeRide, a leader in autonomous driving technologies, to integrate its autonomous vehicles on the Uber platform, starting with the United Arab Emirates.


The partnership is expected to launch first in Abu Dhabi later this year. When a passenger requests an eligible ride on the Uber app, they may be offered the option of having it performed by a WeRide autonomous vehicle.

In July 2023, WeRide was awarded the United Arab Emirates' first and only national license for its autonomous vehicles, enabling it to test and operate them on public roads throughout the Gulf country.
