Sanofi: reportedly receives two bids for Consumer Healthcare

(CercleFinance.com) - According to Bloomberg, Sanofi has received two offers from Clayton Dubilier & Rice and PAI Partners for the acquisition of its Consumer Healthcare division.

Invest Securities estimates that the bids value the business at $17bn, i.e. $3bn below the previously estimated valuation.

PAI Partners would like to involve British Columbia Investment Management in the acquisition, to support its bid, Bloomberg reported. PAI is also in talks with the Abu Dhabi Investment Authority and Singapore's sovereign wealth fund GIC to take part in the consortium.

If the proposed offers are not deemed sufficiently attractive by Sanofi, the group could decide to spin off the business with a view to an IPO, Invest Securities says.

Sanofi is expected to make a decision on the sale of this business in the next few days, after examining the various offers, Bloomberg says.
