Solvay: planned production shutdown at Salindres site

(CercleFinance.com) - Solvay announces a project for consultation with the social partners, aimed at stopping production of TFA and its fluorinated derivatives at its Salindres site in France.


The envisaged cessation of these activities would result in the loss of 68 positions in the production of TFA and derivatives between the beginning of 2025 and October 2025.

"The plan to cease production is due to the continued negative financial performance of the Salindres plant in recent years as a result of unfavorable market trends, and the absence of prospects for future improvement," says the group.

Solvay will record provisions of around 50 million euros in the third quarter of 2024 in connection with this project.
