Engie: EU approves acquisition of TAG South

(CercleFinance.com) - The European Commission has approved, under EU Merger Regulations, the acquisition of joint control of Mexico-based TAG Pipelines Sur (TAG South) by France-based Engie and Australia-based Macquarie.


The transaction mainly concerns the natural gas transportation sector in Mexico.

The Commission concluded that the proposed concentration would not raise competition concerns, given the limited impact on the European Economic Area. The notified transaction was examined under the simplified merger control procedure.
