ABC arbitrage: half-year results slightly better than expected

(CercleFinance.com) - On Tuesday, ABC arbitrage reported slightly better-than-expected half-year results, despite a first half of the year that was not considered very active on the financial markets

Evoking a first half "close to that of 2023", the group saw its income from ordinary activities rise to 22.

8 million euros over the first six months of the year, compared with 20.2 million euros.

The arbitrage specialist, which bases its business on the volatility of the capital markets, reported net income of 8.9 million euros, compared with 8.8 million euros for the same period in 2023.

The Group nevertheless posted its 59th consecutive half-year of positive results, with a return on equity (ROE - Return On Equity) in excess of 10%, whatever the market conditions encountered.

In a reaction note, analysts at TP ICAP Midcap maintain their buy recommendation and a price target of six euros, highlighting slightly better-than-expected results, but still constrained by an unfavorable market environment which is weighing on business momentum.

Although the third quarter saw a very brief episode of volatility in August, ABC indicates that this phenomenon does not allow it to really modify its working conditions.

The Group explains that it is therefore continuing to implement new strategies with the aim of achieving long-term earnings growth, even in unfavorable markets such as 2023 or 2024.

Listed on the Paris Bourse, the share gained 1.2% on Tuesday in the wake of this publication.
