Engie: confirms its growth in batteries

(CercleFinance.com) - Engie announces that it has reached a capacity of more than 1.
8 GW of battery energy storage systems (BESS) in operation in the US.

Since the beginning of 2024, the group has added approximately 1 GW of new capacity to its operating portfolio in North America.

With 24 projects in operation across the US, 6 of which were commissioned this year, Engie is one of the country's leading battery operators, and one of the leading independent operators supporting the ERCOT system in Texas.

Since the strategic acquisition of Broad Reach Power in 2023, Engie is rapidly accelerating its development in batteries, with the goal of reaching 10 GW of installed capacity worldwide by 2030, it said.
