BNP Paribas: acquires HSBC's German private banking business

(CercleFinance.com) - BNP Paribas announces that it has signed an agreement with HSBC for the acquisition of its private banking activities in Germany.
The transaction is expected to be completed in Q2 2025, subject to approval from relevant authorities.

This acquisition will enable BNP Paribas Wealth Management to become one of the leading players in its sector in Germany, and to increase its assets under management in Germany to over 40 billion euros, the French banking group explains.

As a strategic market for BNP Paribas, Germany offers significant growth potential for private banking activities, particularly with Mittelstand clients (German SMEs and family businesses) and corporate and family clients.
