TotalEnergies: gas field starts up in Argentina
(CercleFinance.com) - TotalEnergies announces the start-up of production from the Fenix gas field, located 60 kilometers off the coast of Tierra del Fuego in southern Argentina, a start-up that is ahead of schedule, just two years after the final investment decision.
The field is part of the Cuenca Marina Austral 1 (CMA-1) concession, in which TotalEnergies holds a 37.5% operated interest, alongside its partners Harbour Energy (37.5%) and Pan American Energy (25%).
With a production capacity of 10 million cubic metres per day, or 70,000 barrels of oil equivalent per day, the Fenix development comprises a new, fully automated platform connected to the existing CMA-1 concession facilities.
The gas produced on Fenix is transported via a 35-kilometer subsea pipeline to the Véga Pleyade platform, operated by TotalEnergies, and then processed onshore at the Río Cullen and Cañadon Alfa facilities, also operated by the company.
