USA: Philly Fed index returns to positive territory

(CercleFinance.com) - Overall, manufacturing activity in the Philadelphia region was mixed in September according to the local Fed, with its diffusion index of general current activity rising from -7 in August to +1.

Among the survey's components, the new orders and shipments indexes fall and turn negative, while the employment index rises and suggests overall employment increases.

Both price indexes rise and continue to point to overall price increases. Companies continue to expect growth over the next six months, with expectations more widespread this month.
