Clasquin: half-year results down, capital expenditure up

(CercleFinance.com) - Transport and logistics group Clasquin has reported lower half-year results, due in particular to the impact of its capital expenditure.

The number of operations rose by 7% over the first six months of the year, driven by growth in its maritime business (+4%), which accounts for 44% of the group's total activity, and by a very sharp rise in the number of air operations (+12%).

At 70.6 million euros, gross sales margin was up by 4.7%, thanks to the development of business with the Group's top 30 customers (+21%) and gains in market share

EBITDA came to 13.3 million euros, down by 18.2%, due in particular to higher operating expenses linked to investments in digital tools designed to drive future growth.

Group share of net income fell by 43% to 3.7 million euros, impacted by an increase in the cost of financial debt and a higher tax rate.

For 2024, Clasquin says it is aiming for higher volumes than its market, bearing in mind that international trade is expected to grow by 3.3% this year, with a gain of 6.9% for air freight and 2.1% for sea freight.

Listed on the Paris Bourse, the engineering specialist's shares were little changed (+0.7%) on Wednesday following this publication.
