Sanofi: shipments of Beyfortus begin in the USA

(CercleFinance.com) - Sanofi announced Monday that it has begun shipments to the United States of its Beyfortus vaccine, designed to protect newborns and infants against respiratory syncytial virus (RSV) infections.


The biopharmaceutical group says it has begun delivering 50 and 100 mg doses to private healthcare providers, as well as to the government agency Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) , in preparation for the start of the next viral season, scheduled to begin in November and end in March.

In a press release, Sanofi points out that these deliveries come at a time when the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has recently approved a production line dedicated to the manufacture of doses of this vaccine against bronchiolitis.

The laboratory - which recalls that it developed the product with AstraZeneca - specifies that it is working with the latter on increasing production capacity, with the planned opening of a second production line.
