Safran: contract to supply PASEO sighting system
(CercleFinance.com) - Safran has announced that its Safran Electronics and Defense Australasia division has been selected to supply the 'PASEO Observation and Artillery Designation' advanced panoramic sighting system for integration on Hanwha Defence Australia's Redback infantry fighting vehicle (IFV).
The 'PASEO Observation and Artillery Designation' solution will provide long-range intelligence, surveillance, target acquisition and reconnaissance capabilities for the Redback IFV supplied by Hanwha to the Australian Defence Force (ADF) as part of the LAND 400 Phase 3 project.
The contract covers production and delivery of the PASEO sights and associated equipment.
Safran points out that the 'PASEO Artillery Observation and Designation' system also incorporates Safran's Geonyx inertial navigation system, providing 'precise and reliable positions, even in the absence or unavailability of satellite navigation signals (GNSS-Denied environment)'.
