General Mills: has sold operations to Lactalis and Sodiaal

(CercleFinance.com) - General Mills announced that it has entered into definitive agreements to sell its North American yogurt operations to Lactalis and Sodiaal, in cash transactions totaling $2.
1bn.

Lactalis will acquire the US operations, while Sodiaal will acquire the Canadian operations. The proposed transactions are expected to close in calendar 2025.

The sales involve the US and Canadian operations of several yogurt brands, including Yoplait, Liberté, Go-Gurt, Oui, Mountain High, and ratio , as well as manufacturing plants in Murfreesboro, Tennessee, Reed City, Michigan, and Saint-Hyacinthe, Quebec.

Collectively, the North American yogurt business contributed approximately $1.5bn to General Mills' net sales in FY 2024.

Today's announcement represents another important step for General Mills in advancing our Accelerate strategy and portfolio redefinition ambitions, General Mills management said.

At the close of these divestitures, we will have realized nearly 30% of our net sales base since FY 2018.
