Stellantis: $406 million invested in Michigan

(CercleFinance.com) - Stellantis announced on Wednesday that it plans to invest more than $406 million in three of its Michigan plants as part of the implementation of its 'multi-energy' strategy.

The automotive group explains that the accelerated modernization of the Sterling Heights assembly site, which alone will receive $235.5 million, will enable it to launch its Ram 1500 pickup in battery-electric and extended-range electric versions, alongside the internal combustion engine model.

The Warren Trucks plant, meanwhile, will be responsible for producing the future electric Jeep Wagoneer, one of four electric Jeep models to be launched by the end of 2025, this time as part of an investment of around $97.6 million.

Finally, the investment of over $73 million for the Dundee Engine plant will support the production of battery racks and the machining of crossmembers to complement the assembly of gasoline engines.

Production of these new components will start in 2024, then in 2026.
