SLB: towards large-scale sustainable lithium production

(CercleFinance.com) - SLB announces that it has proven the effectiveness of its large-scale sustainable lithium production solution at its pilot plant in Clayton Valley, Nevada.


This solution combines SLB's underground expertise with advanced surface engineering technologies, including direct lithium extraction (DLE). It produces lithium 500 times faster than conventional methods, while using 10% of the surface area.

SLB reports that the plant has achieved a verified recovery rate of 96%.

'Lithium is a key element in electrification, so we need to find ways to accelerate its production without harming the environment,' said Gavin Rennick, President of SLB's New Energy division.
