Euronext: cash activity stable in August

(CercleFinance.com) - Activity on Euronext's cash markets remained broadly stable in August, a month which was nevertheless characterized by a sudden upsurge in volatility on the world's stock exchanges, show data published yesterday by the operator.


On its cash markets, average daily volume was unchanged or almost unchanged compared with August 2023, at 2,141,743 orders, but down 3% on July 2024.

Over August as a whole, however, total trading volume was down 4% year-on-year, and down 8% sequentially, i.e. compared with July 2023.

With regard to IPOs, Euronext says it recorded four transactions last month, compared with six the previous month and eight in the same month of 2023.

Following these announcements, Euronext shares were little changed (+0.1%) on Tuesday morning on the Paris Bourse.
