Spie: iron powder partnership in the Netherlands

(CercleFinance.com) - Spie has announced that its Dutch subsidiary, Spie Nederland, will collaborate with Metalot to develop an innovative technology using iron powder as a renewable energy carrier.


According to Spie, this powder, which emits low levels of CO2 and nitrogen oxides, could offer a solution to companies faced with power grid congestion problems.

A partnership has been signed to carry out a feasibility study, taking into account the technical, economic and legal dimensions of the project. Metalot will be responsible for the technical design and management of the project, while Spie Nederland will validate the technical aspects and analyze the costs.

Spie and Metalot aim to encourage the development of this technology to reduce the carbon footprint of companies while improving their access to energy.
