Toyota: new generation of batteries certified

(CercleFinance.com) - The Group announces that Toyota's new-generation BEV battery development and production plan has been certified by METI.


This certification by the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry (METI) is carried out as part of the Japanese government's 'Supply Assurance Plan for Batteries'.

'To maintain and improve manufacturing capabilities and technologies within the Japanese battery industry, which includes equipment industries and materials manufacturers, the government is providing support' says Toyota.

Certification has been granted for new-generation battery production at Prime Planet Energy & Solutions, new-generation battery production at Primearth EV Energy (PEVE) and R&D and production of solid-state batteries.

'By strengthening the competitiveness of batteries, Toyota seeks to enhance the commercialization of electrified vehicles and achieve carbon neutrality through a multi-track approach' says the group.
