Samse: 80% fall in half-year net income
(CercleFinance.com) - Samse has reported an 80.
3% plunge in net income (group share) to 8.2 million euros for the first half of 2024, as well as a 71.9% drop in operating income before non-recurring items to 15.9 million, down from 5.56% to 1.65%.
In a deteriorated market, the building materials distributor's sales fell by 5.2% to 961 million euros (-12.4% on a like-for-like basis), with declines of 6.4% for the trading business and 1% for the DIY business.
In view of the uncertainty surrounding market trends, Samse intends to "focus on rationalizing production resources, while maintaining the commitment and skills of its teams", and to promote synergies between its various banners.
