Eli Lilly: plans to expand access to baricitinib in Africa

(CercleFinance.com) - Eli Lilly and EVA Pharma have announced an agreement to extend access to baricitinib to 20,000 people in 49 low- and middle-income African countries by 2030.


The partnership is part of the Lilly 30x30 initiative to improve access to healthcare for 30 million people in resource-limited regions each year by 2030.

Lilly will provide manufacturing expertise to EVA Pharma, which will produce and distribute baricitinib in Africa.

Since 2021, Lilly and EVA Pharma have been working together to ensure a sustainable supply of life-saving medicines and to make insulin more accessible in 56 countries.
