SES: services agreement with Digicel Pacific

(CercleFinance.com) - SES has signed a service agreement with Digicel Pacific to strengthen the latter's network, enabling the rapid restoration of critical communications in the event of natural disasters in the Pacific region.


Following the earthquake that struck Tonga on August 26, damaging the archipelago's only domestic submarine cable connection, SES was able to restore voice, SMS and data services to the Vava'u islands within six hours.

This extended collaboration using the SES service will enable Digicel Pacific to provide enhanced resilience with low-latency, high-bandwidth connectivity in a flexible and rapid manner", says the satellite operator.
