Novavax: FDA green light for updated Covid vaccine

(CercleFinance.com) - Novavax announced on Friday evening that its updated COVID-19 vaccine (NVX-CoV2705) has received an Emergency Approval (EUA) from the US FDA for the prevention of COVID-19 in people aged 12 and over.


This vaccine has been recommended by the CDC since 27 June 2024. Pre-filled syringes will be available in many locations following vaccine batch approval.

The vaccine targets the JN.1 strain, and has shown good cross-reactivity against several variants of this lineage.

Clinical trial results indicate that the most common side effects are headache, nausea, muscle aches, joint pain and fatigue.
