Safran: buys Preligens, which is now 'Safran.AI'

(CercleFinance.com) - Safran announces that, at the end of an exclusive negotiation process that began in June, Preligens, dubbed one of the leaders in artificial intelligence for the aerospace and defense sectors, is to join the Safran group.


The acquisition of Preligens was completed at an enterprise value of E220m. The company will be renamed Safran.AI and attached to Safran Electronics & Defense.

Founded in 2016, Preligens offers proven AI-based solutions for analysing high-resolution images, FMV (full motion video) and acoustic signals.

With this combination, Safran Electronics & Defense, a recognized expert in optronics, space communications and inertial navigation, confirms its commitment to AI.

Indeed, thanks to Preligens' solutions, this combination will enable the company to accelerate the development of AI in its products and services.
