Barclays: appointment to head CIB in France

(CercleFinance.com) - Barclays announced on Thursday that it has appointed Arnaud Bouyer, an executive with the Bruxelles Lambert Group (GBL), to head up its investment bank for France, Belgium and Luxembourg, as the British institution seeks to accelerate its growth in France.

Arnaud Bouyer will join Barclays next month from investment firm GBL, where he spent two years after 22 years at Morgan Stanley, where he was head of investment banking for France.

In his new role, he will work closely with François Baroin, President of Barclays in France, and Raoul Salomon, Managing Director France, to accelerate the growth of the business.

Success in France is a key element of our European growth plan, Tim Main, Head of Barclays' Investment Banking for Europe, Middle East and Africa, says.

The combination of his experience and expertise with that of François Baroin will bring very strong added value to our customers, he adds.

Arnaud Bouyer's appointment comes at a time when Barclays is planning to move into new offices in the course of next year.
