Bonduelle: plan to sell salad business

(CercleFinance.com) - Food group Bonduelle has announced a plan to sell its bagged salad business in France and Germany, citing a continuing deterioration in the results of this activity in these countries.


The group explains that, for the past ten years, it has been facing a structural decline in salad consumption in France and Germany, exacerbated by the inflationary context, and increased competition from private labels.

This project, necessary to preserve jobs in the group's plants in France and Europe, would enable it to focus on accelerating its activities in the fresh delicatessen, canned and frozen markets in these territories.

Bonduelle is also currently reviewing the value of the assets of its salad business in North America, the impact of which would be recorded in the consolidated financial statements at June 30, 2024.
