Nexans: invests E15m in Bourg-en-Bresse plant

(CercleFinance.com) - Nexans announced on Thursday that it is investing E15m in its Bourg-en-Bresse plant to reinforce its production of low-carbon medium-voltage cables.

The group justifies says this is to meet the growing demand for electrification in France and Europe.

Nexans explains that it wants to support distribution network managers and installers, and supply renewable energy projects such as wind and solar farms.

This modernization effort - which is scheduled to run until 2026 - will notably involve the installation of a new metallurgy cable machine capable of producing new, larger sections of aluminum cable.

Nexans will also invest in a new triple extrusion line, while updating part of its industrial tooling, including sheathing and assembly lines, in order to improve employee safety and site productivity.

State-of-the-art digital tools will also be integrated into the workshops, with the aim of turning the site into a 'digitalized factory 4.0'.

All this equipment will be operational in H1 2026.
