Neoen: virtual battery contract with AGL Energy

(CercleFinance.com) - Neoen announces that it has signed a 10-year virtual battery contract with AGL Energy, to provide up to 200 MW / 400 MWh of virtual storage capacity in the Queensland region of Australia's National Electricity Market (NEM).


This service will be provided jointly by the first Western Downs Battery unit (Stage 1) currently under construction, and a new unit (Stage 2), each with a capacity of 270 MW / 540 MWh.

Under the terms of the contract, AGL Energy will be able to load or unload up to 200 MW of Western Downs Battery capacity virtually at any time to cover its customers' demand, using the interface designed by Neoen to place its orders.
