Eurofins: mpox virus tests now available

(CercleFinance.com) - Eurofins Scientific announces the availability of its innovative real-time PCR tests for the qualitative detection of the mpox virus and its simultaneous differentiation from other viruses of the orthopox family (smallpox, cowpox, buffalopox, etc.
).

This release comes in response to the WHO's declaration of an international public health emergency in the face of the global epidemic of simian smallpox (formerly monkeypox), and the recommendation by health authorities for increased testing.

Eurofins is making these new tests available to laboratories serving health authorities worldwide, where they are required and applicable. It has also set aside test kits to give to African health authorities who may need them.
