Alstom: ETCS system tested on UK train

(CercleFinance.com) - Alstom announces that it has taken an important step towards the introduction of digital cab signalling on the UK's East Coast Main Line, completing dynamic testing of the European Train Control System (ETCS) on a key passenger train.


The Alstom team installed the technology on a train from the Great Northern Class 387/1 fleet, marking the first time a major UK commuter fleet has been retrofitted with the technology.

This paves the way for future ETCS expansion on other lines in the UK.
