Aegon: new CEO for Aegon AM in one month's time

(CercleFinance.com) - On announcing its interim results, Aegon announces the appointment of Shawn Johnson as the new CEO of its subsidiary Aegon Asset Management, as well as a member of the Group Executive Committee, effective from 23 September.


He will succeed Bas NieuweWeme, who has decided to leave the Dutch insurance company to pursue other career opportunities, but will retain an advisory role until 1 December to ensure a smooth transition.

Shawn Johnson will bring a wealth of experience to Aegon AM, having served most recently as CEO of AMP Capital, an Australian-based international investment manager, which he successfully led through a period of strategic transformation, Aegon says.
