Bombardier: Global 7500 sets one speed record after another
(CercleFinance.com) - Bombardier announced on Wednesday that its Global 7500 business jet had achieved a string of exceptional performances over the past year, setting no fewer than 50 speed records in less than 50 weeks.
The average speed of each of the 10 fastest flights, recorded on routes such as Miami-Sao Paulo, Tokyo-Los Angeles or London-Bahrain, exceeded 1,000 km/h, the Canadian aircraft manufacturer said in a press release.
The Global 7500 business jet, with almost 200 deliveries and over 180,000 flight hours to its credit, is capable of a top speed of Mach 0.925 and a basic range of 7,700 nautical miles, equivalent to 14,260 km.
Its performance is set to be further enhanced with the launch of the Global 8000 aircraft, which will offer a range of 8,000 nautical miles and a maximum speed of Mach 0.94.
It is scheduled to enter service in 2025.
