Ford: strategic changes in electric vehicles

(CercleFinance.com) - Ford reports a shift in its electrification strategy, including an expanded range of options 'designed to accelerate customer adoption, including lower prices and longer ranges'.


Its new platform of affordable electric vehicles also aims to bend their cost curve, making them a 'profitable and capital-efficient business, while continuing to significantly reduce carbon emissions over time'.

As part of this, Ford will focus its next generation of electrified and digitally advanced vehicles where it has competitive advantages - commercial vans, medium and large pickup trucks, long-range SUVs.

As part of its all-electric portfolio, the automaker plans to launch an all-new commercial van that will go into production in 2026 in Ohio, closely followed in 2027 by two new pickup trucks.
