Roche: mobilised against MPox

(CercleFinance.com) - In response to the WHO's declaration of a global health emergency due to the ongoing simian smallpox (ex-monkeypox) epidemic, Roche says it is actively working to improve laboratory testing capabilities worldwide.


The Swiss healthcare group is committed to supporting all those working to overcome the epidemic, by providing access to high-quality polymerase chain reaction (PCR) tests.

Our commitment to supporting the global response to simian smallpox began in 2022, when we developed a series of tests to provide global access to rapid, high-quality PCR assays, Roche Diagnostics said.

To detect the virus, Roche has developed three unique LightMix Modular Virus kits for use on a LightCycler 480 II instrument, a LightCycler PRO or a cobas z 480 analyzer, as well as the cobas MPXV test for use on cobas 6800/8800 systems.
